THE 17TH WORLD DAYS WITHOUT MOBILE PHONE & SMARTPHONE: 6, 7, 8 February 2017

Sorry for this rough translation of our press release in English.

"The Smartphone: dominating our lives? "6, 7, 8 February 2017

The 17th campaign of the World Days without Mobile Phone & Smartphone on February 6, 7, 8, 2017 has as theme: compulsory addiction!

Can we live without a mobile phone in 2017? This is an issue that will become obsolete in the near future for several reasons:

- Administrative procedures will be done more and more via the Smartphone.
- 80 billion connected objects will control our comings and goings in 2020 with our own Smartphone.
- Social networks have become a second breath of our everyday life.
- Industries, service providers, healthcare will focus more and more around the Smartphone.

In 2017, are we already in an irremediable process where the Smartphone dominates our lives?

Addiction to the Smartphone will increase in users who are increasingly victims of Big Data.

In 2013, Phil Marso proposed the term "Adikphonia" to replace Nomophobia.

On the occasion of the 17th edition, the author releases a new book "Adikphonia" which will give tracks to overcome addiction and protect his privacy.

It should be noted that Phil Marso never proposed cutting his Smartphone during these three days of February 6, 7, 8. This annual meeting is a pretext for a debate on this communication tool.

40 questions related to this appointment are offered to teachers who wish to share this debate with their students:

Phil Marso, a polar writer, has been the instigator of these World Days without a mobile phone since 2001. Every year he launches this citizen call and invites reflection in schools in particular.

We invite the media to take advantage of these three days to launch this debate of reflection: the addiction of the Smartphone and the Big Data invading.
