(Français -Anglais - Espagnole - Russe - Portugais - Allemand)

The world days without mobile phone were launched on February 6, 2001 on the initiative of the French writer Phil Marso. Author of a humorous detective novel: Mobile killer without apparent mobile.

He wanted to extend the subject of the book by a world day without a mobile phone. He is not against this communication tool.

It proposes a debate of reflection on this object which changed our lives. Phil Marso has never offered to cut his smartphone during these three days 6, 7, 8 February.

This annual meeting is a pretext for a debate about this communication tool. Nevertheless you can do an addiction test: cut 1h, 3h, 12h or more to you to see.

In 2018, exceptionally two themes including this one:

The 18th campaign of the World Days without cellphone & Smartphone of February 6, 7, 8, 2018 has for theme: the irresponsible behavior of motorists who use their smartphone while driving.

Reading or writing messages while driving requires leaving the road for five seconds. Attention danger !

At the 3rd edition in 2003, Phil Marso had already proposed this theme to educate motorists on the dangers of mobile phone while driving. Since the advent of the smartphone, this Swiss technological knife has more attention for drivers: email, SMS, social networks, etc.

During these three days: 6, 7, 8 February, Phil Marso invites motorists during their journey to cut their smartphone during three time slots:

6h / 9h (Departure to work) - 12h / 14h (Lunch break) - 18h / 21h. (Back home)

40 questions related to this civic meeting are proposed to teachers who wish to share this discussion of reflection with their students.

Two posters to illustrate this 18th edition can be downloaded from the official website: Mobilou.info.

Phil Marso, writer of crime fiction, is the instigator of these World Days without mobile phone since 2001. Each year he launches this call citizen and invites to debate in the schools in particular.

We invite the media to take advantage of these three days to launch this debate: the insecurity of smartphones driving on the roads.
